Production of silver dollar coins had stopped in 1904, however, so no Morgan dollars were struck at Denver until the Morgan series resumed briefly for 1921. The Denver mint began producing the Peace silver dollar coin in 1922 and did so sporadically until 1935. Even before the Treasury began to release silver dollars in the mid 20th century, the 1900-O Morgan dollar was considered common. Nearly 12.6 million were struck in New Orleans that year, and many were just stored in bags and not circulated. When the Treasury did begin to release those dollars, the 1900-O Morgan was well represented. 1900 1900 Barber half dollars are relatively common coins that are particularly sought after by type collectors who want a decent specimen without having to fork over large sums of cash. In fact, virtually every issue (except for the 1900 proof half) is affordable in a grade of Good, and can be commonly found in the upper grades, too.
The 1900 Morgan silver dollars have value as both numismatic coins and as silver bullion. Keep reading to learn more about these coins.
